FINALITÀ

(Cfr. A guide for Teaching African Traditional Religion). To awaken the interest of participants in African Religion and Culture. To prepare and dispose them for interreligious dialogue. To help them appreciate the lasting values of African Religion. To help students appreciate the urgency of inculturation of the Christian faith in Africa.

Misconceptions about African Religion; The Debate around the nomenclature and terminology; Sources in African Religion; Essential characteristics or elements of African Religion: God and Man in AR, Good and Evil in AR, Sacrifice in AR; The life after and the life-end in AR; Ancestor veneration in AR; Revelation in African Religion, The salvific value of African Religion; Vatican II and African Religion: African Religion in the Documents of the Church and the Changing attitudes of the Catholic Church; African Synods and the African Religion; African Religion in the dialogue debate; Pastoral attention to the African Religion.
