ARGOMENTI
Building on the course in Patrology 1, this course will consider the history and development of Patristic theology from Constantine to St. Maximus the Confessor (7th century); the problem of heresy; development of Christology, Pneumatology, Trinitarian theology, Ecclesiology and the problems of grace; development of Patristic liturgical/sacramental theology; Patristic mystical theology and the early monastic Fathers; discussion of individual Fathers and their thought (Athanasius, the Cappadocians, Evagrius, Cyril of Alexandria, Augustine, Pseudo-Dionysius, Maximus, etc.).
