To acquire a basic and synthetic general knowledge about canon law in the life and the mission of the Church, its origin, development and the essence of basic norms established in book I of the CIC/83.

Learning Outcomes:
• Students will have acquired: basic knowledge of the historical origin and development of canon law; interdisciplinary nature and essence of canon law; and synthetic meaning of laws established in book I of CIC/83.
• The acquisition of the general knowledge will help the students to: interpret basic ecclesiastical laws and be enabled to apply them in day-to-day cases involving the ministry and life of the Christian Faithful.
