The course is an introductory path to some general issues of communication and its implications on a personal and social level. Particular attention will be given to today's digital context, trying to grasp the mechanisms and challenges that the new communication paradigm poses to the Church in terms of proclamation.
The course aims to give some foundations on communication explaining why this is constitutive of the processes of human civilization. Make people understand what the transition from a mass media culture to a digital bio media culture entailed. Understand what social media are and how they work, what is the role of Artificial Intelligence in the current techno-cultural landscape. Introduce the communication of Pope Francis' meeting to understand what it means today to be present as Christians on the web and in social media. A brief look at how young people experience this environment will also be given. Finally, the rediscovery of communication tools of the Salesian tradition is also proposed, such as theatre, music, the band, the choir, dance, etc. as community education and training tools.
